Welcome to our class blog!
October was another exciting month for us here in first class. We were learning lots about the season of autumn this month, 3D shapes, science experiments, and exploring the festival of Halloween.
We began our October by taking a nature walk around the school grounds to see what signs of Autumn we could spot, and try to identify some of the trees which are growing locally.
We explored 3D Shapes and made some of our own using playdough.
We did some science investigations this month and gave them a spooky Halloween twist! We began by exploring how water changes to ice when it is cold. The children then tested different methods to see how quickly they could melt our frozen Halloween hands!
We also made some slime using cornflour, water and food colouring. The boys and girls loved getting their hands messy and exploring how the mixture went from liquid to solid.
We also enjoyed making some Halloween art. Look how well it turned out!
The children put their creative writing skills to the test and wrote some Halloween poems!
What a fun month we have had!
